Wild Grass

Visual Impact

A man’s face appears at extreme close range behind pale wild grass, one eye and the line of his nose held among blades crossing at several depths. The field is not a backdrop but a screen. The image recalls the physical experience of sun, dry stems, and a face briefly seen before the landscape closes again.

Artistic Detail

The visible eye provides the sharp focal point while grass cuts vertically and diagonally across forehead, nose, and mouth. Lower features soften into green-grey haze. Pale blades introduce small highlights and keep the close crop from becoming a conventional face study.

Interior Context

A medium or larger vertical presentation is needed for the eye and individual grass stems to remain distinct. Hang it near eye level in a bedroom or study. Let it stand alone, or pair it with an outdoor figure shown at greater distance; pale wood supports the dry tones.

Quality & Presentation

Produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper and professionally framed in solid wood, the work is available in the sizes and frame finishes shown in the product options.

For Your Collection

The portrait is discovered through a place rather than separated from it. Grass obscures and reveals the face in equal measure. Within the Queer Art & Gay Wall Art Edit, the defining exchange is between figure, field, and the viewer’s act of looking through.

The provenance of this piece begins with you.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

01
Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.
02
White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.
03
UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.
04
Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
05
Custom sizing
Need a different size? Custom dimensions are available by request. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm artwork ratio, print resolution, frame availability, and pricing.

Frame dimensions describe the moulding profile. Finished dimensions vary according to the selected artwork size and mat.
