The Clearing

Visual Impact

A bare-backed man emerges from dense dark-green foliage, his shoulder filling the lower edge while his turned profile nearly disappears into leaves. The body feels discovered within the landscape rather than placed before it. Skin, shadow, and greenery hold the remembered sensation of stepping into a place that closes around you.

Artistic Detail

The broad back creates a warm curved plane below the smaller profile, while leaves press close behind in varied dark greens. Tight cropping removes the lower body and most facial detail. Light along neck and shoulder separates anatomy from the irregular organic ground.

Interior Context

The profile needs a generous vertical scale to avoid disappearing into the foliage. A narrow wall or dark-painted panel suits the close crop. Let The Clearing connect botanical imagery with male portraiture in a salon wall; a dark frame keeps the green field continuous.

Quality & Presentation

Produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper and professionally framed in solid wood, the work is available in the sizes and frame finishes shown in the product options.

For Your Collection

Leaves are not background here; they enclose and partially reveal the body. The male portrait belongs to the Queer Art & Gay Wall Art Edit, while foliage, turned face, and exposed shoulder keep the connection between person and place open.

The provenance of this piece begins with you.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

01
Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.
02
White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.
03
UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.
04
Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
05
Custom sizing
Need a different size? Custom dimensions are available by request. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm artwork ratio, print resolution, frame availability, and pricing.

Frame dimensions describe the moulding profile. Finished dimensions vary according to the selected artwork size and mat.
