Visual Impact

A dark cropped head, centered neck, and bare shoulders occupy a horizontal black-and-white field against soft grey. The strict rear crop turns proportion into presence: head, narrow neck, and shoulder line are enough to suggest a person without granting access to expression. Broad shoulders prevent anonymity from becoming absence.

Artistic Detail

The near symmetry is carried by the shoulders and neck, while the cropped head introduces a slight irregularity at the top edge. Soft grey background separates the figure without a hard outline. Light travels across the shoulders, exposing gradual shifts rather than abrupt contrast.

Interior Context

Black, white, and grey work with pale oak, dark lacquer, concrete, or colored walls. The square format can center above a bed or cabinet and offers a formal pause within a group of more expressive portraits. Keep the square work at medium scale above a bed or cabinet; keep it solo or use it as a pause between more active portraits.

Quality & Presentation

Produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper and professionally framed in solid wood, the work is available in the sizes and frame finishes shown in the product options.

For Your Collection

Taper Form makes recognition depend on proportion rather than expression. Within Queer Art & Gay Wall Art, its withheld face leaves the viewer close to the body but outside its biography. That proportion makes the anonymous sitter physically distinct.

The provenance of this piece begins with you.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

01
Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.
02
White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.
03
UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.
04
Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
05
Custom sizing
Need a different size? Custom dimensions are available by request. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm artwork ratio, print resolution, frame availability, and pricing.

Frame dimensions describe the moulding profile. Finished dimensions vary according to the selected artwork size and mat.
