Swimmer's Heat - No. 1

Visual Impact

A wet bare-chested figure lowers his head within a narrow strip of light against a dark blue-green field. Droplets and bowed head hold the bodily aftermath of water, when temperature and breath remain more immediate than the wider place. One narrow light band holds him there.

Artistic Detail

The light falls vertically across head, shoulder, and chest, leaving the rest of the body to dissolve into deep blue-green. Water catches on hair and skin as small bright points. The lowered face keeps expression secondary and allows the lit anatomy to organize the frame.

Interior Context

Blue-green, black, and warm skin tones suit bathrooms, bedrooms, or studies with stone, dark tile, walnut, or brushed metal. The horizontal image can span a low cabinet and can sit beside broader swimming scenes where water remains visible. Use a medium horizontal format beside a bath or above a low chest; pair it with No. 2 only if the deep water values align.

Quality & Presentation

Produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper and professionally framed in solid wood, the work is available in the sizes and frame finishes shown in the product options.

For Your Collection

Wet hair, bowed head, and one strip of light keep this swimmer close but self-contained. Within Queer Art & Gay Wall Art, physical presence arrives without direct gaze. Water is remembered here through droplets, temperature, and breath.

The provenance of this piece begins with you.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

01
Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.
02
White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.
03
UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.
04
Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
05
Custom sizing
Need a different size? Custom dimensions are available by request. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm artwork ratio, print resolution, frame availability, and pricing.

Frame dimensions describe the moulding profile. Finished dimensions vary according to the selected artwork size and mat.
