Visual Impact

A freckled man’s face fills the monochrome frame, one eye meeting the viewer directly while a forearm rises near his mouth. The gesture creates a barrier without breaking contact. Skin, gaze, and arm hold openness and self-protection at once, giving the portrait a psychological alertness secured by visible posture.

Artistic Detail

The visible eye is the sharpest point above the forearm’s broad diagonal. Freckles and fine skin texture counter the arm’s smoother plane, while the second eye recedes from focus. Dark ground closes around the crop and intensifies the direct gaze.

Interior Context

At a generous landscape scale, freckles, eye, and shallow focus remain distinct. Place it above a low cabinet or beside a bed at close viewing height. Pair it with Soft Guard No. 1 as a two-work study, or give it a separate wall; black framing supports the dark field.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.

White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.

UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.

Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
