Visual Impact

A man’s lowered face fills a wide black-and-white frame, revealing cropped hair, stubble, pores, and small marks against a dark ground. The extreme closeness turns a likeness into terrain. Rather than supplying a setting, the work asks the viewer to notice the details another person would know only at intimate range.

Artistic Detail

Forehead, brow, nose, and jaw descend across the horizontal crop while the lowered gaze keeps the eyes partly withheld. Fine grain and stubble remain sharp near center, then soften toward the edges. The dark background removes every competing object.

Interior Context

A larger landscape presentation heightens the work’s physical proximity and lets skin texture hold from across the room. Place it above a low headboard, console, or desk at eye level. Avoid a dense portrait wall; black framing keeps the crop uncompromised.

Quality & Presentation

Produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper and professionally framed in solid wood, the work is available in the sizes and frame finishes shown in the product options.

For Your Collection

Skin, stubble, and a close gaze replace biography with bodily presence. The male portrait sits within the Queer Art & Gay Wall Art Edit’s tradition of intimate looking, but its force remains in surface and direct contact.

The provenance of this piece begins with you.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

01
Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.
02
White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.
03
UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.
04
Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
05
Custom sizing
Need a different size? Custom dimensions are available by request. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm artwork ratio, print resolution, frame availability, and pricing.

Frame dimensions describe the moulding profile. Finished dimensions vary according to the selected artwork size and mat.
