Visual Impact

A broad-chested white dog sits to the right of two cropped figures in cream, brown, and black tailoring as hard sunlight crosses the group. The dog meets the viewer directly; lapels, trouser creases, an open shirt, and polished shoes build the human presence beside it. Formal dress and animal presence meet with a dry sense of wit.

Artistic Detail

The two seated figures form a tall block at left, while the dog creates a compact shape at lower right. A bright strip of sun reveals fur, weave, lapel, skin, and shoes before falling into shadow. Cream, brown, black, and white keep the asymmetrical arrangement clear.

Interior Context

At medium scale, the dog remains substantial beside the tailored figures and the sunlight retains its cut. Above a library cabinet or console, the asymmetrical composition reads cleanly from across the room. Add another Side by Side piece if grouping it; walnut, black, or warm natural framing supports the suiting palette.

Quality & Presentation

Produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper and professionally framed in solid wood, the work is available in the sizes and frame finishes shown in the product options.

For Your Collection

A dog and two sharply dressed figures share the same hard sunlight, giving formality an everyday companion and a dry wit. The image also joins the Queer Art & Gay Wall Art Edit through its broader context of tailoring and the male figure.

The provenance of this piece begins with you.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

01
Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.
02
White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.
03
UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.
04
Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
05
Custom sizing
Need a different size? Custom dimensions are available by request. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm artwork ratio, print resolution, frame availability, and pricing.

Frame dimensions describe the moulding profile. Finished dimensions vary according to the selected artwork size and mat.
