Quiet Vice

Visual Impact

A shirtless seated man in pale jeans holds a lit cigarette near his knee, his tattooed arm and torso emerging from brown-black shadow. The face is excluded, leaving the hand, ember, and drifting smoke to describe the pause. A familiar vice becomes a precise bodily gesture rather than a glamorous prop.

Artistic Detail

The hand and cigarette sit near the square’s center, connected to the torso by a bent arm. Washed denim catches the strongest light while smoke interrupts the dark field. Warm skin, blue cloth, and the orange ember create a narrow but active color range.

Interior Context

Keep this work at medium scale so the ember and smoke remain visible rather than theatrical. An adult study, bar, or sitting room suits the subject; place it above a low cabinet. Group it with closely cropped portraits, using dark framing to contain the field.

Quality & Presentation

Produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper and professionally framed in solid wood, the work is available in the sizes and frame finishes shown in the product options.

For Your Collection

A loose grip, tattoo, worn denim, and rising smoke give a private habit its physical setting. This male body study sits within the Queer Art & Gay Wall Art Edit, with the focus kept on gesture, wear, and suspended time.

The provenance of this piece begins with you.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

01
Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.
02
White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.
03
UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.
04
Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
05
Custom sizing
Need a different size? Custom dimensions are available by request. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm artwork ratio, print resolution, frame availability, and pricing.

Frame dimensions describe the moulding profile. Finished dimensions vary according to the selected artwork size and mat.
