Patina Chain I

Visual Impact

Oversized links run vertically through a tight square crop, turquoise gathering across their upper surfaces while brown settles into seams and edges. The compressed view makes contact the subject: broad forms pass through one another in a continuous sequence, while the marked surfaces keep the chain’s material, origin, and finish unresolved.

Artistic Detail

The links extend beyond the frame, denying a complete view and making each curve feel larger. Turquoise occupies the lit upper planes; brown follows recessed joints and surface breaks. A white field removes context, so the interlock and mottled finish become the entire composition.

Interior Context

Turquoise, brown, and white work with oak, concrete, dark metal, or cream upholstery. The chain inside its square field fits between openings or beside shelving, or within a grouping where it can introduce color without a pictorial scene. Keep it medium on a narrow wall or above a compact cabinet; use it as a tight counterpoint to Medium or Long only at matched frame finish.

Quality & Presentation

Produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper and professionally framed in solid wood, the work is available in the sizes and frame finishes shown in the product options.

For Your Collection

Patina Chain I begins the series closest to its subject, making interlock and surface sufficient for abstraction. Turquoise and brown concentrate at every joint and edge. The tightest view makes every junction feel physical and consequential.

The provenance of this piece begins with you.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

01
Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.
02
White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.
03
UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.
04
Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
05
Custom sizing
Need a different size? Custom dimensions are available by request. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm artwork ratio, print resolution, frame availability, and pricing.

Frame dimensions describe the moulding profile. Finished dimensions vary according to the selected artwork size and mat.
