Mid-century Motors - No. 2

Visual Impact

A pale blue rounded sports car stands on an empty dirt road with one door open beneath low hills and a mauve-grey sky. The open door breaks the car’s continuous profile and introduces human scale without identifying who opened it or why. Road, bodywork, and low horizon hold the scene in suspension.

Artistic Detail

The long horizontal frame sets curved fenders, round headlamps, chrome trim, and pale blue bodywork against road, low hills, and a mauve-grey sky. The open door interrupts the coupe's flowing side line, making this an object study in mid-century form and implied use.

Interior Context

Pale blue, mauve-grey, and earth tones fit rooms with oak, linen, concrete, or brown leather. The open landscape gives the work visual room at larger scale, whether placed in a study, lounge, long hallway, or office. Hung large above a long console, it reads as an atmospheric open-road vignette; show it alone or beside one Motors work whose horizon and frame finish align.

Quality & Presentation

Produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper and professionally framed in solid wood, the work is available in the sizes and frame finishes shown in the product options.

For Your Collection

This work functions as landscape and artifact: pale coachwork, an open door, an empty road, and low hills held beneath a grey-pink sky. The human presence remains implied rather than narrated, allowing the vehicle’s curved form and the open setting to carry the work together.

The provenance of this piece begins with you.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

01
Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.
02
White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.
03
UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.
04
Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
05
Custom sizing
Need a different size? Custom dimensions are available by request. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm artwork ratio, print resolution, frame availability, and pricing.

Frame dimensions describe the moulding profile. Finished dimensions vary according to the selected artwork size and mat.
