Locker Room - No. 3

Visual Impact

A seated man lowers his head and presses a rough towel to his forehead above one bent knee, all held in warm monochrome shadow. The towel and bowed head make exertion legible through recovery. It is the private interval after effort, when the body no longer needs to perform.

Artistic Detail

Head, towel, forearm, and knee gather into one compact diagonal, compressing the figure near the center. The towel’s coarse pale surface interrupts the smoother range of skin and shadow. Warm brown tones preserve detail while keeping the surrounding room nearly absent.

Interior Context

Sepia-brown, cream, and black pair with walnut, leather, linen, or aged brass. The concentrated portrait is well suited to a study, bedroom, or small wall where its bent posture can be read at close range. Keep it medium near eye level in a study or bedroom; hang it alone or pair it with Locker Room - No. 4 as a recovery-and-release sequence.

Quality & Presentation

Produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper and professionally framed in solid wood, the work is available in the sizes and frame finishes shown in the product options.

For Your Collection

A towel pressed to the brow records the human cost of effort. Within Queer Art & Gay Wall Art, the athletic body is valuable here because it is tired, private, and unguarded. Recovery, rather than exertion, gives this athletic study its humanity.

The provenance of this piece begins with you.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

01
Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.
02
White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.
03
UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.
04
Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
05
Custom sizing
Need a different size? Custom dimensions are available by request. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm artwork ratio, print resolution, frame availability, and pricing.

Frame dimensions describe the moulding profile. Finished dimensions vary according to the selected artwork size and mat.
