Jet Black Form

Visual Impact

Short black hair, an exposed neck and shoulders, and a fine chain sit against a green-grey ground. Seen from behind, the person remains specific through haircut, chain, and posture, yet open enough for the viewer to supply recognition. The chain supplies the portrait's smallest point of light.

Artistic Detail

The nearly level haircut creates a firm horizontal line, countered by the chain’s slight curve and the slope of each shoulder. With the face withheld, surface and silhouette become the subject. The green-grey background separates black hair from skin without a hard outline.

Interior Context

Black, skin tones, and muted green-grey complement dark wood, pale stone, brushed nickel, or green upholstery. The spare portrait is effective on a small wall alone and can also stabilize a denser arrangement of figures. Keep it medium and near eye level above a narrow chest; hang it solo or align it with one rear-view portrait.

Quality & Presentation

Produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper and professionally framed in solid wood, the work is available in the sizes and frame finishes shown in the product options.

For Your Collection

Haircut, chain, and withheld face make recognition depend on details rather than biography. Within Queer Art & Gay Wall Art, that partial access gives the portrait its personal charge. The chain becomes a personal marker in place of eye contact.

The provenance of this piece begins with you.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

01
Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.
02
White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.
03
UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.
04
Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
05
Custom sizing
Need a different size? Custom dimensions are available by request. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm artwork ratio, print resolution, frame availability, and pricing.

Frame dimensions describe the moulding profile. Finished dimensions vary according to the selected artwork size and mat.
