Horseback - No. 2

Visual Impact

A bare-chested rider sits in a dark saddle on a dappled horse beneath bright clouds rendered in black and white. The rear view keeps attention on posture and material rather than expression. Bare back, saddle, tack, and patterned hide meet beneath an open sky, making the relation between rider and horse physically specific.

Artistic Detail

The saddle creates a dark band between rider and horse, clarifying each form within the monochrome field. Dappled markings animate the lower frame, while bright clouds break behind the torso. The upward viewpoint gives the pair stature without losing the horse’s tactile surface.

Interior Context

Monochrome allows the work to sit comfortably with dark wood, nickel, saddle leather, stone, or colored walls. Use a medium-to-large vertical placement beside a bookcase or above a narrow cabinet; pair it with Horseback - No. 1 at matching height for near-and-far views.

Quality & Presentation

Produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper and professionally framed in solid wood, the work is available in the sizes and frame finishes shown in the product options.

For Your Collection

Within Western Wall Art, this is the closer material study: body, saddle, tack, and dappled hide replace the companion work's broad field of sky. Compared with the expansive sky of Horseback - No. 1, this companion moves closer to tack, skin, and the horse’s markings.

The provenance of this piece begins with you.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

01
Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.
02
White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.
03
UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.
04
Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
05
Custom sizing
Need a different size? Custom dimensions are available by request. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm artwork ratio, print resolution, frame availability, and pricing.

Frame dimensions describe the moulding profile. Finished dimensions vary according to the selected artwork size and mat.
