Fire Island Vintage - No. 1

Visual Impact

Dark curls, aviator-style sunglasses, a fine chain, and sunlit bare shoulders fill this black and white male portrait. Wet skin, curls, aviators, and chain compress a whole social persona into one close black-and-white view. The expression and accessories make the encounter direct, while the missing setting keeps attention on the person rather than a presumed place.

Artistic Detail

Monochrome gives the portrait a graphic structure: dark hair and lenses above a bright chest, with the chain tracing a fine line between them. The crop feels immediate without becoming abrupt, and the direct angle gives the figure an assured presence within the square field.

Interior Context

Its black, white, and warm grey range sits easily with natural oak, white lacquer, chrome, or dark-stained wood. Use a medium solo placement at eye level in a bedroom or study, where the face can hold direct contact without becoming oversized.

Quality & Presentation

Produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper and professionally framed in solid wood, the work is available in the sizes and frame finishes shown in the product options.

For Your Collection

In Queer Art & Gay Wall Art, style becomes a form of social memory. Curls, aviators, chain, wet skin, and a steady expression hold this Fire Island Vintage work to one person's chosen appearance.

The provenance of this piece begins with you.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

01
Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.
02
White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.
03
UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.
04
Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
05
Custom sizing
Need a different size? Custom dimensions are available by request. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm artwork ratio, print resolution, frame availability, and pricing.

Frame dimensions describe the moulding profile. Finished dimensions vary according to the selected artwork size and mat.
