Face Off

Visual Impact

Face Off places two shirtless men in opposing profile against a black ground, separated by a narrow central gap. The narrow interval between the men carries as much weight as their faces. Nearness is visible, but its meaning remains theirs rather than the viewer's. The black field gives neither profile refuge.

Artistic Detail

Each profile enters from an outer edge and stops before the center, creating a strong symmetrical structure without contact. Bare shoulders form two low diagonals, while monochrome light distinguishes hair, brow, nose, mouth, and jaw against the unbroken black field.

Interior Context

The high-contrast horizontal work suits a bedroom, study, living room, or long hallway. It can span a console or low cabinet and pairs with blackened metal, pale oak, stone, leather, cream wool, or saturated paint. Use a larger horizontal format above a low cabinet or bed; hang it solo so the central gap remains the composition's charged axis.

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.

White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.

UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.

Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
