Boys Being Boys

Visual Impact

Three back-facing figures in white sleeveless shirts stand low against an immense pale wall and dark ribbed base. A hard band of sunlight reaches in from the left but stops before the last figure, making their different positions matter. The scene feels less like action than a shared pause measured by architecture.

Artistic Detail

Blank wall occupies most of the wide frame, reducing each body to a small vertical interval. Repeated white shirts establish a rhythm; separate stances break it. Horizontal ribs anchor the base, while diagonal window shadows interrupt the wall’s otherwise strict geometry.

Interior Context

This work should be shown with enough width for the blank wall to retain its scale. Above a sofa, desk, or long cabinet, the low figures create a strong horizon. Let it stand alone, or group it with other rear-view portraits; a slim dark frame echoes the ribbed panel.

Quality & Presentation

Produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper and professionally framed in solid wood, the work is available in the sizes and frame finishes shown in the product options.

For Your Collection

Similar white shirts, separate bodies, and sunlight reaching only part of the group describe the moment before anything happens. The piece joins the Queer Art & Gay Wall Art Edit through three male figures, shared dress, proximity, and collective presence beneath an immense wall.

The provenance of this piece begins with you.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

01
Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.
02
White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.
03
UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.
04
Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
05
Custom sizing
Need a different size? Custom dimensions are available by request. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm artwork ratio, print resolution, frame availability, and pricing.

Frame dimensions describe the moulding profile. Finished dimensions vary according to the selected artwork size and mat.
