Auburn Form

Visual Impact

Copper-lit curls, a close-tapered nape, bare shoulders, and a fine chain define Auburn Form against deep green-black. The copper color makes hair the first point of recognition. With the face withheld, curls, chain, and nape carry the familiarity of noticing someone from across a room.

Artistic Detail

The square crop holds the head near center while allowing the curls to spread into a dense, irregular crown. Warm copper edges rise from the dark ground; below, the tapered hairline, shoulders, and slender chain create smaller lines that keep the image precise.

Interior Context

Copper, dark green, and black suit a bedroom, study, dressing area, or compact portrait wall. The square format can punctuate shelving or a narrow wall, and it sits readily with walnut, oxblood, antique brass, cream, or deep painted finishes. Use a medium square above a small cabinet; pair it with Jet Black Form or Chestnut Form only when centerlines and frame finishes match.

Quality & Presentation

Produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper and professionally framed in solid wood, the work is available in the sizes and frame finishes shown in the product options.

For Your Collection

Auburn curls become identity without revealing a face. Within Queer Art & Gay Wall Art, the portrait values the intimate details by which people are remembered. Hair color becomes the detail through which this sitter is known.

The provenance of this piece begins with you.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

01
Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.
02
White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.
03
UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.
04
Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
05
Custom sizing
Need a different size? Custom dimensions are available by request. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm artwork ratio, print resolution, frame availability, and pricing.

Frame dimensions describe the moulding profile. Finished dimensions vary according to the selected artwork size and mat.
