Visual Impact

Seen from below, a bare-chested figure grips two ropes while wearing red mesh shorts. Grip and stance carry the bodily effort, while the monumental interior makes one ascending figure a measure of architecture as well as strength. The ropes extend that effort through the room's full height.

Artistic Detail

The low viewpoint lengthens the torso and sends the ropes toward the upper edge, emphasizing grip, balance, and vertical strain. Red fabric provides the only concentrated color, while the pale architecture breaks into columns, window openings, and a sweeping overhead curve.

Interior Context

The strong vertical composition suits a stair hall, gym, study, bedroom, or narrow wall between openings. Red, cream, and charcoal can connect with painted walls, pale oak, stainless steel, or dark furniture without turning the room into a sports setting. Use it large on a stair wall or between tall openings; hang it solo so ropes, body, and ceiling retain one uninterrupted upward route.

Quality & Presentation

Produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper and professionally framed in solid wood, the work is available in the sizes and frame finishes shown in the product options.

For Your Collection

Ascending joins physical effort to architectural scale through two taut ropes and a low viewpoint. Within Queer Art & Gay Wall Art, the male body is active, exposed, and fully in command. Ropes connect bodily effort to the scale of the surrounding room.

Framing Guide

Made to last, every work is framed to order in wood with white mat board and UV-filtering acrylic.

01
Wood frames, made to order
Each frame is built and assembled for the selected artwork. Wood grain and tone vary naturally, particularly in Natural and Deep Natural.
02
White mat board
Both frame styles use white mat board scaled to the selected artwork size. Discovery Series works are set within a cut 2.4 mm conservation-grade mat. Editions Series works are floated over an uncut mat, with a spacer preventing the artwork from touching the acrylic.
03
UV-filtering acrylic
Both frame styles use clear UV-filtering acrylic. In the Editions Series Frame, a spacer keeps the floated artwork from touching the acrylic.
04
Ready to hang
Discovery Series Frames use a Cobra hook up to 70 × 100 cm and a sawtooth hanger above that size. Editions Series Frames arrive with hardware selected for the finished size and weight.
05
Custom sizing
Need a different size? Custom dimensions are available by request. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm artwork ratio, print resolution, frame availability, and pricing.

Frame dimensions describe the moulding profile. Finished dimensions vary according to the selected artwork size and mat.
